Sweet, sincere, unassuming, gentle, smart and very funny was David Rakoff. He was part of City Bakery's world for many years. He was one of the few people who ever convinced me to come to his home for a holiday meal, a perfect Thanksgiving. David loved food, just one signal of how he loved life. It's painful that he doesn't get to live more.
