Beautiful spinach at market this morning from a favorite farmer: John Schmid of Muddy River Farm in Goshen, New York. Nearly everything John grows is exceptional, and now that he's back for the season, every Friday I'll begin buying a steady supply of his lettuce, carrots, radishes, incredible peppers and basil. Today, we'll use this spinach in a new dish for lunch: Basmati Rice with Curried Rock Shrimp, Spinach & Peanuts.

  1. I'm so glad that John is back for this season! His farm was hit really hard in last summer's hurricanes, but his veggies (and his stories) are just about the best I've ever gotten.
